How to use it

Use this converter when scheduling or checking a named-zone local time whose UTC offset may vary by date.

  1. Enter a local wall date and time and its source IANA zone.
  2. Choose a target IANA zone; if the source time repeats, select its earlier or later occurrence.
  3. Convert and review both localized times, numeric offsets, and the UTC instant.

Worked example

Input
2026-07-28 09:00 · Asia/Singapore → Europe/London
Output
2026-07-28 02:00 in London · instant 2026-07-28T01:00:00.000Z

The displayed wording follows the page locale; both sides still represent the same instant.

Method and definitions

  • IANA zone rules supplied through Intl.DateTimeFormat map the source wall time to matching instants.
  • Zero matches is a DST gap; two matches is a repeated hour that requires explicit disambiguation.

Limits and edge cases

  • Supports years 1970–2100 and depends on the time-zone database version bundled with the browser.
  • Future political rule changes and older browser data can change a result; zone abbreviations are not accepted as identifiers.
